Fitzpatrick Lentz & Bubba, P.C. is pleased to announce that Douglas Panzer, formerly principal of the Law Office of Douglas Panzer, will chair the Firm’s intellectual property practice. Panzer, a Philadelphia native, has served as Of Counsel for FLB’s intellectual property practice since 2013. He continued to operate his intellectual property “boutique” in Philadelphia during that period.

“Doug’s proven experience in intellectual property and technology issues and his commitment to the Lehigh Valley entrepreneurial community were obviously the key aspects in our decision to further this relationship. Doug has created lasting relationships with local startups, software developers, e-commerce companies and corporate enterprises,” said Joseph A. Bubba, the Firm’s Managing Partner. “This model provides our clients with enhanced access to technology-related legal services and adds depth and scope to our business practice.”

“Bringing my practice to FLB makes perfect sense,” said Panzer, who will continue to serve in an Of Counsel role at FLB. “The Lehigh Valley tech scene is thriving, and both established businesses and entrepreneurial ventures need legal services provided by a firm based in the community. I look forward to continuing to help the region’s exceptionally talented, driven businesspeople fulfill their vision.”

Prior to starting his own firm, Panzer served as an attorney at the Philadelphia intellectual property firm of Caesar, Rivise, Bernstein, Cohen & Pokotilow, Ltd. There, he handled patent, copyright, trademark and trade secret litigation, as well as technology and intellectual property transactions and strategy.

Before entering the legal field, Panzer developed and managed web and enterprise technologies for organizations including BroadVision, Inc., The National Institutes of Health and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Panzer holds a degree in Computer Science and Economics from Washington & Lee University and a J.D. from the Washington College of Law at American University. He is a licensed attorney in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and is admitted to practice before state and federal courts in both states.

Panzer has received numerous honors, including placements in Pennsylvania Super Lawyers – Rising Star Edition in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2015, and the Top Attorneys list for Intellectual Property Law in Main Line Today magazine in 2014.

Panzer is active in the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation’s Entrepreneurship Council, LV Tech’s Startup Weekend and the Montgomery County Bar Association.
