Law Firm Women Help Build House
Employees Participate in “Women’s Build” for Habitat for Humanity

Law Firm Women Help Build HouseCenter Valley, Pennsylvania – September 25, 2008 – Employees of Fitzpatrick Lentz & Bubba, P.C., recently participated in a “Women’s Build” for Habitat for Humanity of the Lehigh Valley. Over a 2-day period, more than 15 law firm employees learned a variety of construction skills including hammering, measuring, framing and how to use power tools. Those skills were then used to assist in building one of 40 new homes on South Mountain in Bethlehem.

Habitat for Humanity works with the community to change the community, one home, one family at a time. The organization builds new or renovates damaged homes by drawing the community together through support of donated materials, contributed dollars and giving hands. Habitat Lehigh Valley seeks and works with local disadvantaged families willing to work for their home and provides mentoring and homeownership skills to help those families succeed as homeowners.

“Volunteerism like your group just provided makes it possible for us to keep Habitat houses affordable to the neediest of families,” said Angelika Cornelius, Director of Development at Habitat for Humanity. The days included some hard work, but in the true spirit of giving back to the community, all participants agree the experience was uplifting and one in which they would participate again.
