Preamble

Fitzpatrick Lentz & Bubba's Employment Law group offers client counseling during all phases of the employment process, from hiring practices and determinations through disciplinary action and termination decisions. The Firm provides guidance in the development of personnel policies and procedures, with an emphasis on compliance with the many state and federal statutes and regulations governing the employer-employee relationship. We also advise clients on matters such as wages, benefits, Title VII, ADEA and ERISA. We strive to provide comprehensive solutions, from day-to-day advice to emergency triage, from counseling and policy development to proactive strategies and conflict resolution. We also regularly guide clients through EEOC and PHRC proceedings, conduct workplace investigations and handle litigation matters which arise from the employment relationship, including discrimination, wrongful termination, breech of contract, wage claims, defamation, Family Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disabilities, and a host of other claims which may be asserted.

Our attorneys take a proactive and personal role in assisting our clients. Whether at our offices, on-site or elsewhere, we regularly meet with organizations, review and revise employee handbooks, draft employment policies, train workforces and counsel employers regarding best practices and legal compliance. We help clients devise and implement effective workplace policies and conduct training and audits of employment practices – all to ensure that our clients can spend their time on the business of doing business.

In the traditional labor law field, the Firm advises clients concerning union-related matters such as organizing campaigns, including Do's and Don'ts for supervisors, collective bargaining negotiations and strategy, unfair labor practice issues, grievance processing and arbitration, picketing, “management rights,” decertification and a host of other questions relating to a unionized workforce. Another area of on-going concern where our attorneys can provide assistance is the interrelationship of the myriad employment laws and a collective bargaining agreement.
