Maraleen D. Shields Speaks at the Diversity & Inclusion Summit

Maraleen D. Shields, shareholder of the Firm’s Healthcare and Litigation & Trial Practice Groups, was recently invited to be a panelist at the Diversity & Inclusion Summit presented by Olympus Corporation of the Americas.

Held on September 23, the Diversity & Inclusion Summit focused on informing business leaders of strategies and existing programs to promote inclusion in the workplace. Seminars were offered throughout the day to provide attendees valuable perspectives on various aspects of workplace diversity and inclusion. Ms. Shields’ panel featured her, along with other esteemed business leaders, discussing how their workplaces have worked towards engaging underrepresented groups. The panelists also analyzed the increased appeal of an inclusive work environment for the next generation of workers.

Discussing her participation in the Summit, Ms. Shields explained, “As I look to be a change leader within my organization with respect to inclusion, equity and diversity, I was honored to be asked to participate in the 2nd Annual Diversity & Inclusion Summit panel discussion with true change leaders in the Lehigh Valley.”

Ms. Shields is a frequent speaker and author on diversity and inclusion issues, and is a member of the Executive Council of the Minority Bar Committee of the Pennsylvania Bar. She is an integral part of FLB for her depth of knowledge and understanding of subjects such as HIPAA, medical staff disputes and medical malpractice liability.
