Joseph A. Bubba, Co-Managing Shareholder of Fitzpatrick Lentz & Bubba, moderated a panel with clients, Scott R. Stevenson, President & CEO, Phoebe Ministries, and Joseph M. Cimerola, President & CEO, LifeCare Holdings, LLC, at Lehigh Valley Business’ annual Health Care Symposium on Wednesday. The panel “Aging and Health Care: What the Future Holds for This Rapidly Evolving and Growing Industry,” discussed current and future trends and challenges facing the elder care industry.

With nearly 10,000 baby boomers turning 65 every day, the need for facilities that cater to the elderly, including assisted living facilities, skilled care and other kinds of housing, is increasing dramatically. The three panelists discussed how elevating costs, the lack of a skilled workforce and significant regulations are barriers to entering the market.
