During the busy holiday season, when the stores are crowded and the air is frigid, there is no better gift than that of a warm, comfortable place to sleep.  That is exactly what FLB did as part of our “30 Acts of Giving” campaign. Employees collected and donated bedding supplies, such as sheets and pillows, along with hygiene and cleaning products to the Sixth Street Shelter in Allentown. With 25 family units, new bedding and hygienic items are always welcomed, especially during the holidays.

Several sheet sets, pillows and household cleaning supplies were donated to the Sixth Street Shelter.

Sixth Street Shelter is a non-profit organization that has been providing housing and casework services to homeless families with children since 1984.  Their mission is to work with low-income families during their 60-day stay to create goals and step-by-step plans to achieve them. Sixth Street Shelter also gives families life skills such as how to find permanent living spaces, and budget properly. Last year, an average of 70% of families successfully transitioned from Sixth Street Shelter to stable living conditions.
