T’was lunch before the snow storm and all through the firm, the music was playing and the pizza was warm. All the Holiday Hope Chests were wrapped up with care, and stacked up so nicely, in hopes none would tear. These boxes were covered in stripes and penguins, a cheery container to put the toys in. On Christmas, 72 children will shout with glee, when they open those boxes wrapped by FLB.

As part of our “30 Acts of Giving” campaign, fifteen FLB employees took time out their day in mid-November to wrap over 70 shoe boxes for the Holiday Hope Chests program. The wrapped boxes were then taken to be stuffed with toys for children who otherwise may not have received gifts this holiday season.

That’s a lot of boxes!

Holiday Hope Chests is annual program run every year by the Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley.  Their mission is to engage the community, from individuals to large corporations, in making a difference in a child’s holiday.

This year’s goal is 7,500 Holiday Hope Chests, a huge undertaking we are sure the Lehigh Valley community can achieve. To learn more about the boxes’ journeys, watch the Volunteer Center’s informational video or visit their website.

As part of FLB’s 30th Anniversary, we decided to give back to the community that has helped us through the years. Our “30 Acts of Giving” campaign entailed collecting donations for and volunteering our time at 30 local charitable organizations.
